Hardly any 12 coupe for sale through McL at the moment.

Really interested in one that is out of network. Nowhere near McL garage so McL PPI out of the question.

Would buying on the basis of external condition and service history only be silly? Would look to get a non McL warranty on it sooner rather than later.

Buy one with a really good warranty (Ideally Mclaren, or one with the few decent 3rd party ones).....or buy one very cheap and have it inspected by someone that knows the cars.

Check out this great buyers guide.

I'd say getting one privately or on SOR with the existing Mclaren extended warranty would be probably sensible to be honest. Better than the Mcl dealerships which are asking funny money for the 12c's that they do have.

Exterior condition can be tidied up easily and doesn't really tell you a lot and anyway most 12c coupes, if used regularly (and cars used often have historically run better, more so than most others ime) are going to need a bit of a refresh by now if one wants them pristine. It's the mechanical bits that you want to be sure are sound and service history alone won't tell you that, much less exterior condition.
