LeMans Classic track parade laps
Discussion
Hi fellas, anyone know who LMC track laps can be booked with? Went in 2016 and loads of different cars doing parade laps so when I booked again for this year with Travel Destinations, I tried to get some laps booked as well. They say they have a list of approved cars for the laps and mine isn't on it (2003 Alfa Romeo 156 GTA). Apart from tour operators, is there any other avenue to getting on the track for a couple of laps?
There were guys on our campsite in 2016 who did the parade laps and then just returned to the campsite with their cars ( they do the parades between every race/practice session throughout the Classic weekend. One guy did laps in a Range Rover!! Also spotted various other modern motors over the weekend. will persevere.
It seems to help if your car has French plates. Any old thing seems to get on track if it's French registered. For others it's a bit stricter.
I just booked my first ever LMC track laps, also through TD. A Porsche 968 must be on the approved list. I was asked what car I would be using but that's as far as it went.

Here's the 'Happy Few' list which is eligibility for entry to the club areas and parade laps:

The main change in last couple of years was all 911s being allowed. In 2014 it was all except 991.

I'd be really really surprised if someone managed to get a Range Rover out there. The parade laps I did was with mostly classics and a few modern cars but even these were all sports/supercars. It wasn't just a free for all.The guy with the Rangey was camped next to me in the TD campsite and a really nice fella. It was a classic Range Rover and a lovely old motor but also not on the "list". He set out to do a couple of sedate laps but came over all Stirling Moss chasing MGs and outbraking Healeys etc, it was his exuberance the made me want to do laps this year.

My Boxster appears to be eligible now, which is good. I'm pretty sure it wasn't in 2014.http://www.1st-tickets.co.uk/images/LMC2016%20Happ...

Yes taking the S2 this year the S1 has not made it home twice now.
Caught fire just before the Channel Tunnel in 2014, 2016 the alarm and immobiliser stopped talking to each other at Rouen when we stopped for fuel.
Hopefully we will have more luck and air con this time which will be nice if the weather is the same as last time.
