Hi,

Does anyone know this car ? Just spotted it had gone on the AUC site. Manual 981 BGTS.... quite rare and has PTV which is also a rare option...

Seems a decent spec too ?

If it's the GT Silver one at Leeds it has elimination of the alcantara interior, no climate, no phone prep and no cruise...

Yup. Thought cruise could be retro-fitted ?

Assumed PTV/manual compensated for lack of climate.

Assumed Bluetooth was standard - good spot!

Cruise can be retrofitted, I think it's £570. Phone prep too, but it's £1024.

Climate, to me, is a must but each to their own.

Elimination alcantara is the biggie - it's removed a large USP of the GTS.

Understood. Remember someone telling me that they liked non-alcantara but agree unique to the GTS.

Just struck me as unusual to see a manual one up for sale.

Don’t know it but could have a look at this one as it has the gts interior ( Alcantara interior with red stitching) and exterior package( all usually textured black trims in gloss black) plus other bits they the other one doesn’t have

Looks nice, thanks for posting.

But I get the impression that red cars seem to be hanging around longer than others. And the asking prices from private sellers are too similar to the OPC cars ?

Interestingly, not that many 981 BGTS on the market right now.

No worries,

The Leeds car has the alavantara delete which would be a massive no no for me as it will just look like a normal Boxster inside and looks like they have priced it low to compensate

Personally a big must have for me would be the GTS interior package as was around a £4K option but gives it the red stitching aswell as keeping the Alcantara and keeps it in with being a GTS. Without the GTS package you get the silver stitching but still keep the Alcantara so to delete it and have full leather is imho killing the value and exclusivity of the GTS.

I think that Carmine quite suits the Boxster and you only really see it on GTS’ and also better with the GTS exterior pack so no dull plastic anywhere.

I think that the Carmine one on here is retail price from a dealer but is probably going on the fact that it is manual and when the Leeds car is advertised on A/T he may lower the price to similar money so might be worth a chat?

Currently only 14 on A/T and no manuals until the Leeds car goes up.

Yup, the unique GTS alcantara is a nice touch. From reading various threads, I thought maybe some people preferred full leather but could be mistaken.

Given how rare the manuals are, I thought the Leeds car looked good value vs what else is on the market.

As said above, its priced based on its spec. There was a cheap Cayman GTS for sale last year, cheap because it had a full tan leather interior.

You plays yer money and takes yer choice...

Not quite...The GTS interior pack was about £2200 and could be red contrast stitch/red rev counter/red seat belt edges/carbon trim OR silver contrast stitch/silver rev counter/silver seat belt edges/carbon trim. With neither pack you got the standard alcantara WITHOUT any contrasting stitching and polished silver trim. You also could not have vented seats with alcantara of any form.

I went a different route because I felt the dark alcantara with carbon trim was a bit sepulchral! I LOVE my vented seats in a Boxster on warm days. Each to their own!

I must get some newer photos with better lighting! wink
