Take the total cost, divide by the list price (or the Carwow/DTD price if you're feeling brave) then multiply by 100.

> 30% bad deal
25%-30% ok deal
20%-25% good deal
< 20% bite the salesperson's hand off!

I'm new to this. Is this for 2 year lease deals only? What do people consider the right bands for 3 year deals?

Thanks

They're all ok deals at best IMO, none amazing (as is the market generally just now). Probably the only one I'd realistically consider having is the Tiguan. Looked at most of these last year as CR-V replacements, but a mental deal on Peugeot 5008s came out of nowhere so got one of them. Qashqai possibly, but would have to be Tekna or bust for me. Same with the Sportage - GT Line or 3 spec at least.

Thinking outside the box a wee bit, there's some decent deals on BMW 2 series Active and Gran Tourers kicking about just now:

Neva were who I got the 5008 from and were excellent to deal with.

Thanks for that. Looks a good deal to me, added to my list.

Need a car pretty quickly otherwise would wait for better deals.

Also looked at the Peugeot 5008 and the 3008. Found a 3008 GT Line for ~£7,000 for 2 year lease and has good reviews.

Going to have a look at various cars this weekend - probably my shortlist now is: BMW 2 series, Tiguan, Qashqai & 3008.

Let us know how you got on.

5/3008 interiors are head and shoulders above everything else in their class. I'd also say better than BMW and possibly even Audi - certainly more interesting than both of them, maybe somewhere between the two in terms of quality.

Got an alert for this one today. Petrol this week instead of diesel on offer last week, bigger broker fee though: 218i M Sport Active Tourer Auto - 8k miles - £196.58/month on 9+23

Have you been in one?

On the drive currently is a Peugeot 5008 SUV (wife's) and B9 Audi A4 (mine). Both amazing interiors but I much prefer the design in the Peugeot, however the Audi is slightly better build quality all round (although you have to start looking for it - on the 'surface' they're quite even).

Prior to this we had an F30 3 series and F20 1 series and the Peugeot is miles ahead of them in terms of style and I'd say better quality as well.

The Audi's just about to be replaced by a Volvo S90 - which probably trumps them all.

Not smoking any crack (today...)

Probably the same thing as me, ie nothing. I totally agree and although they take a little while to get used to which is unsurprising considering how innovative they are, it's well worth it. I have spent a couple of days in a 3008 and I would rate the ergonomics above my current A4 B9 and fit / finish on a par.

I'd have to agree with the 5008 interior, got one of the deals on here last year to replace a cupra (18% on the above scale), wife drives it mainly with the kids but have to say the technology is fantastic, its put together quite well too, certainly better than the Cupra it replaced, not sure if its as nice as my current 330e in terms of screwed together and feel of the plastics

Genuinely surprised as never had a Pug before, wife is already asking if we can buy it at the end of the lease, i doubt i will as every dew weeks it tells me to go to the nearest workshop and kindly directs me there and its a slow as anything I've ever driven, but for what we wanted its absolutely fantastic.

To add deal was 3 + 23 £224 inc metallic on a GT Line Auto 1.6 HDI

Ours does that too! It'll happen 2 or 3 times in half an hour then nothing for a month or more. Figured it was a bug so just leaving it until service time - glad to see it's not just us. Noticed a wee red spanner flashes up on the dash for probably less than 1/4 second then goes away again, but the sat nav has already reacted.

Exact same car and deal. Wondered if it was something to do with the recall and it just prompts you then remembers it's already been done so cancels it again?

Ignoring the c3 and the Kadjar, all the others are priced within £1000 of each other
Is it better to test drive and get the one you prefer, for the sake of £40 odd a month, since they'll be going back in 2 years anyway?

Could possibly, I do see the spanner for a split second too, like you, can happen frequently then not again for a few weeks / months, we do low mileage so only notice it on longer journeys, the first time I nearly turned off the motorway as I thought it was a traffic notification, then something didn't seem right so ignored it, mine happened before the recall and after so not sure if its anything, will mention at the service though.

Gave it a wax and polish yesterday and it really looks a stunning car, for a shade over £200 a months its a bargain!

Went looking at cars with the wife - managed to look all but the BMWs (plan to go see them this weekend)

3008 - We both like (Agree, its definitely the best interior) probably my favourite, but its the most expensive (9+23 £224)
Tiguan (& Ateca) - Like but wife disliked...
T-Roc (& Arona) - We both like, but smaller than others on the list
Sportage - We both like
Qashqai - We both like - infotainment lets it down.

Once I have seen at the BMWs will have to make a decision...

Alright so I have seen all the cars.

Have rounded it down to the following cars (All costing around £250 pm (averaged over the 2 year lease) - Arona £220 pm):
Qashqai
Sportage
2 Series Active Tourer
T-Roc
Arona

Can't choose between them....

Suppose the question is, does anyone know which will be available for delivery in weeks rather than months?
(e.g. have seen talk on the Best Lease deals thread that T-roc won't be available until after September which would rule that out)

How do you find out delivery times? Just ask when getting a quote on the broker sites? or ask the retailers?

I've heard T-Roc's have a huge lead time on them, I'm sure I read about someone saying there is a backlog to September of builds - so you're unlikely to get one until near the end of the year

Yeah seen that mentioned on the lease thread. Rules t-roc out.

Guess I just need to call dealers / brokers to get delivery times on the others.

If you are not bothered about spec/colour then ask dealers if there are any in stock cars - that wont just be the dealer or their group, they may have access to nationwide stock (or in transit). Dealers order for demo's, pre-reg etc, all sorts of reasons - you never know.

When i was looking for my lease, I spoke to my local Skoda dealer and they had a choice of what seemed hundreds of Octavia's/Superb's with varying options and colours and delivery times (immediate, in build, build week allocated etc).

Ultimately, with a lease, any options or colour choices you make you pay for at full cost generally - a £240 option will cost you an additional £10 a month, no consideration is given to the increase in price at resale - hence why asking for a stock car could be an option?

Cheers for that, good to know.

Not really bothered about colour/extras, probably be happy with any new car they have available.

Would you take a dealer pre-reg / demo car at the same lease cost as a brand new factory order or would you expect to get a slightly cheaper deal?
