30-45k on a fun car for 12 months without taking a bath
Discussion
Im after suggestions for something to last me 8 to 12 months that will be reasonably pain free, not depreciate that much and be easy to step out of when it comes sale time.
I had originally decided on a cayman 981s manual but there are only 4 for sale all pretty pricey for standard spec. Im resigned to the fact I need to look elsewhere so thinking M2? Anything else

I'm in exactly the same boat and spent last Saturday looking at 981 Boxsters and S3 Elises (started a separate thread). A mint supercharged S3 will be collected on Saturday which over 12 months shouldn't lose an awful lot and will be a riot over the summer. Looking at your suggestions it maybe a bit raw?

I think Lotus is certainly an option - not sure how quick those sell either? I looked at BMW M2's but I know nothing of the brand other than people complaining about reliability
Lotus don't seem to sell as quickly as Pork so you may need to start the offload process sooner. However bought correctly they won't need much maintenance (it's something I considered when choosing and Elise over a v6 Exige). There is a Cayman GTS available for 48k with OPC warranty until September - Will require a service plus another £1200 for 2 years warranty if you want that comfort.
