More often than not there is a slight squeak from the front of the car when I turn the wheels to the left. This only happens when the car 🚗 s moving forwards. f the car is stationary then no squeak. 2008 DB9

Any clues as to what it might be?

If it's only at very low speeds, it might actually be coming from the handbrake pad. Very common, sounds like it's coming from the front because of the way it echoes into the cabin. It's due to the pad design. Same problem as the front brake pads.

One way to help reduce it is to drive backwards and use the handbrake - this will clean off the buildup on the leading edge. It might come back eventually but usually this helps reduce or eliminate it.

That’s why I love Pistonheads:

Not only does this post describe my problem, but it also offers a solution. Last night, I heard that whistling sound when turning left at a slow speed. I had completely forgotten that I’d driven off at noon with the parking brake engaged.

I just tried the suggested solution, and - as far as I can tell so far - the problem seems to be fixed. Thank you so much!
