Watermarks and G-Technic questions
Discussion
Hi all,
A couple of questions that I'd like some help or comments on;
In March 15 I had my car fully detailed and ceramic coated with GTechnic, how long should this last and should it be enough to stop scratches/swirling after as I now have lots of both?
Secondly, is there anything I can add to a water source (either jet wash form outside tap or 2 bucket from same tap) that will help stop water marks? I spent ages cleaning my car yesterday but the water leaves loads of white outlined marks all over that are buggers to remove. Took me a long time to polish them away. We do unfortunately live in a hard water area.
Thanks

This will get rid of your water spots. Spray on and wipe off.A couple of questions that I'd like some help or comments on;

To avoid water spots you could get a DI vessel. You plug your hose pipe into it, and it distills the water leaving no minerals or limescale on your car (which causes the water spots).

If your ceramic coating has lasted 3 years, then I'd say thats pretty good. But then it's all down the wash technique.
i have much the same issue, so going to give that detailer a go, cheers.
Couple of tips to minimise water marks, that have helped me-
Never, ever, wash the car in strong direct sunlight.
When rinsing, just use a hose stream rather than any sort of fanning nozzle, the water sheets off and leaves a lot less to dry and fewer spots.

I use a water filter that attaches between the hose and tap, it stops water marks and is a worthwhile investment if you're serious about the appearance of your car. I had my car detailed with Gtechniq crystal serum and was told it should last 3-5 years but I'm not convinced, though much depends on how the car is looked after and where you live (coastal, industrial fallout etc), so no hard and fast rules methinks.
