I don't have a perception, I'd ask you to be specific.
Really? So when somebody mentions a teaspoon of sugar to you, nothing comes to mind at all?
You have no preconceived idea of what it should look like to you?
Other than that I have more pressing matters to consider!

It tends not to come up in relevant conversation in my world, only as a request (coffee/tea) or in a recipe, recipes usually stipulate and if it's in a drink i'd ask.

Fair enough! Other than that I have more pressing matters to consider!

Poison.
I guess you're not a sugar fan then..
I would go a level spoon...but the photo isn’t what I’d consider to be level.
When cooking and the recipe asks for a cup of this or a teaspoon of that, I take the back of a knife and run it across the top to properly level it.
I believe it is actually a defined measurement - around 5ml?

Five grams
According to this (American) site, it's 4.2 grams but recognised as 4 grams.website said:
This important bit of information is your key to converting grams into teaspoons. Four grams of sugar is equal to one teaspoon. To be precise, 4.2 grams equals a teaspoon, but the nutrition facts rounds this number down to four grams.

Cooking is such an imprecise art that it probably makes the square root of Fanny Adams difference anyway!
Exactly. I only follow a recipe the first time round, after that it's modified to suit. The best cookery books are those old ones, splattered with ingredients with loads of pencilled in notes.Evoluzione said:
