Cazana - anyone know this company?
Discussion
I have noticed that a company called Cazana are advertising my 3 month old car for sale on their website.
I have contacted them and asked where they got the details from. They claim they pull the sales info from the internet but my car has never been advertised. I did a webuyanycar search on my car when I picked it up, just out of curiosity, so I guessing that's where they get the info from. I have declined to offer any information to them on the car (or me) at the moment until I find out a bit more about them. They seem to have quite a few employees when I check 'The Team' on their website so I'm guessing they're not just 'a person with a computer in a bedroom' outfit.
Does anyone else know this company of perhaps used them?

when you say 3 month old car, is it 3 month old to you (a used car) or is it 3 month old from new (a 67 reg)?
Cazana is a kind of history check rather than an up to date sales site like Autotrader. So the advert could be from around the time you bought it, advertised by the garage you bought it from.

Cazana pull in info from adverts on the internet. So it's probably the original ad from when the OP bought the car.
Thanks for the replies.
The car is an 18 plate and has never been advertised, I was the first owner and ordered the car. It was just out of interest that I googled my reg number and found their ad. No photo's of the car on their ad so I can't do a Tineye search (I never knew Tineye existed). I'll request they remove the ad.

I would rather not have an unknown third party advertising my car for sale at a price that I haven't requested or sanctioned. Furthermore, why should they advertise something that isn't for sale, they don't own and use the reg number of my car as the title of their ad.
They told me they just harvest ads from the internet but when I pointed out that my car isn't, and hasn't been advertised for sale, they could not explain how they had the details of my car.
@ bigandclever - Would you object if a third party advertised your house for sale without consulting you?

So, just to repeat my question (as I answered yours), would you mind if a random company advertised your house for sale? When your house isn't, and has never been for sale.....
I don't want my car advertised for sale by it's reg number and I would like to know how the company harvested my car details. I don't think it's unreasonable to ask them and request they remove the ad. Are you connected with Cazana? Do you think it is unreasonable?

Is it actually an advert or just the standard Cazana information regarding first registration date and location, a Cazana valuation and the MOT history which is mostly just a reflection of the data held and freely available on the gov.uk website?
Yeah this? Is there actually an advert linked to it? Piha said:

I doubt I’d care, that’s why I’m asking why you care that a website has a reg number and, apparently, nothing else. Not sure why we’ve jumped from cars to houses, either, but if someone knocks on my door and wants to buy my gaff for anywhere near what, say, Zoopla value it at, I’ll bite their hand off.I signed up to view my car.
Checked tons of reg but my current car had the most info. Was really useful actually, found out that the person before me paid £15k from Dick Lovett approved used BMW. Has the full advert and pictures too which is cool.
I paid £11.5k , just 6 months later from a respectable large dealership in Brighton.
Sucks to be them. I was initially concerned by short ownership especially as it had been for sale for a couple of months , but had the car a year and it's great. Must have been a change of circumstances or general dislike.
Seems to be the motoring equivalent of Zoopla.
