Hi

This is a bit of a long shot, but I'm trying to find out if my dads old TVR Chim is still on the road. My dad isn't very apt when it comes to the internet, so I thought it would be good if I could find out for him. It was a 5.0 Chimaera, Dark Blue, cream leather interior and (if memory serves correctly) 99 reg. The only modifations made to the car were the addition of new alloys and brake calipers that he had fitted at the TVR factory in 2000, some new air vent surrounds above the dash and a couple of gold exterior TVR badges (front and back). He can't remember the reg, but if the car still lives, then he will be listed as a previous owner; M.Fawcett.

The car was his absolute pride and joy. Unfortunatly it was involved in a rather serious collision in 2001, when someone drove through a red light, which resulted in serious damage to the front end. I'd guess a Cat C write off. Thankfully, both my parents were unharmed. I remember how devastated he was when the car was brought back to his home on a low loader. It had long been his dream to own a TVR and the dream ended abrubtly that day.

Anyway, he's getting on a bit now, but he still wonders what became of the car. If anyone here can offer some information, I'd be extremely greatful, as would my dad. I'll try and provide any additional information that I can.

Apologies if this isn't in the correct section. Any help is greatly appreciatedsmile

Cheers
James.

A registration number would be useful, but if he can't remember it, then it limits the chances of discovering it.

Perhaps post a message on the TVR car club forum?

Unfortunately he can't remember the reg. He had a private plate fitted during his ownership, so I can't even use old photos as a reference point. I was going to post on the owners club website, but it seems that the forums are downfrown

A little more information. The car was written off in the north east. It was bought from Hexham Horseless Carriages and the bill of sale was with the car at the time, so should still be with the paperwork that was handed over. Someone contacted my dad back in 2002ish, asking about the history and crash info, but nowt since.
