Spotted a 2005 Jazz at a very reasonable price but only a short MOT, only advisory is for 'some surface under body corrosion but all appears sound'. Didn't seem to be a standardly worded advisory, not mentioned at previous MOTs.

Without physically seeing the vehicle I know this is a hypothetical question to ask whether it should be viewed as a red flag but anyone know if Jazz's are prone to rotting away?

Hard to say, but most Jazz owners are prone to doing just that IME. laugh

When I was in the motor trade I did take some Jazz’s in with rust on the doorsills. 05/06 models if I recall.

Mine's an 77k 05 reg and had an advisory recently about rear suspension mounting points and brake pipe ferrules corroded but not to excess.

It's pretty poor elsewhere underneath with a lot of corrosion on suspension components and bubbles appearing on both the the rear wheel arches. It needs new strut top mounts on the front but most of the bolts I need to get undone to replace them have rusted so badly a socket would just round them off.

Corrosion wise it's a lot worse than all the old French Sheds I've owned. The gearbox input shaft bearing is getting noisy - a very common Jazz fault - too.
