So my 991 GTS started running like a bag of spanner’s 7 weeks ago.wouldnt rev, missing and no power. No engine management light though.
It got recovered to Porsche and they said....nothing wrong with it. Computer said no
I asked if they had driven it? They hadn’t. When they did, obvious problem
So here we are 7 weeks later and it’s had...
Cats
O2 sensors
Actuator flap on inlet manifold
High pressure pump
Low pressure pump
Fuel lines
Injectors
Engine now out for third time
They think they’ve now traced to a flap in the fuel line that regulates pressure on idle, that wasn’t opening under load
Should have it back by end of the week
I’ve had some courtesy cars on and off but probably no more than 2 weeks out of 7. I refused the Mercedes 220 d offered as a joke. So I’ve had 1 week in a booster and 1 in a cayman (both excellent btw!)
I want some compensation to offset the loss of amenity and cost over 7 weeks of finance insurance etc for something I can’t use.
Anyone had a similar experience? If so what have you managed to negotiate?
Thanks
Rob

Hi

Not sure which opc you’re using but hope you get this sorted, we had our new to us Cayman GTS back at a Cheshire opc for 14 weeks just after buying it with an engine fault, much changing of parts etc only to be told 3 months after purchase it was a characteristic and we should live with it!

Since had great service from Wolverhampton OPC and the characteristic has gone!

Not all opp’s are created equal.

shame they cannot diagnose faults without a computer these days and did not drive it !!

As for " compensation" and refusing to use a Merc, get over it imo. odd why you have only had a loan car for 2 weeks though not the full 7 ! but I guess you turned it down.

at the v least for this i would demand a like for like replacement while they sort the issue - when we have had cars in for issues they have provided like for like fill-ins .

that would be my starting point before even discussing compensation for such a long time resolving issues with a new car

Enterprise provide the replacement cars if the dealer has nothing spare. The best I could get was a 520d when mine was in....there was a 530d if free.

I got a Merc 220D AMG Line recently while my Cayenne was in having warranty work..We actually didn't need a replacement as we have enough cars already..Its only a major issue to a one car owner..

thats not a great think to say.... you buy a brand new car and a if its broken I think its fair for some kind of like for like substitute

we have 3 cars and our disco is the only 7 seater so its quite important for us to get a disco replacement for us when its in for repairs - which has been more than it should have for a 1y old car, that said LR have also provided a like for like replacement all times

Mine was in for 4 months...take the enterprise car as the repair goes on a higher priority. There are only a few top techs per opc and they are busy.

Would have like a Porsche of any type but nothing free.
