£10k, 4/5 doors, interesting, not on fire.

Contemplating, reluctantly, moving on my S4 Avant and buying something about £10k to free up some cash due to change of circumstances.

Please help with some ideas, basic requirements are:
£10k
4 or 5 doors (hatch / estate / SUV due to potential dog duties etc)
10k miles per year (incl. daily commuting)
Interesting
Not constantly on fire or in the garage.
Suitable for reasonably wide driver (had to sell mini as couldn't fit anymore :/) C class snug but livable, S4 ok.

Recent prev. cars include; X type v6, subaru forester, alfa 166, MK4 R32, bmw 545 touring, merc c220 estate, Mini GP2, B8 S4 Avant (current),

Thoughts keep waning between things like an Alfa Guilietta Cloverleaf to a Disco 3. Not sure either are categorised as not being regularly in garage if the forums are to be trusted...

Just keep coming across things that aren't very inspiring.....any thoughts PH?

2008 Megane R26 (3d though)...maybe find a RS250 too, but always had a soft spot for r26
2009 Mazda 3 MPS
2009 Civic Type R Champs White ed.

They seem interesting and not quite a common, but are there major bork-factors there for all of them?
