Going to get a road angel 2.

Was wondering if anyone has put one in their T350/Tam?

Had a couple of questions:
Are their any issues fitting them? Do they attach ok to the windscreen?
Any tips on hiding the wires etc? Want to make as little mess as possible of the dash.

If anyone has a photo of theirs fitted that would be ideal

Thanks!

Yep, fits on the windscreen fine , I had mine hardwired, but you could use the flexible connector through your cigar lighter socket without problem, but the wire does go across the dash, which is why mine's hardwired.

Windscreen mount is better than the dash mounting bracket (the Angel does not fall on the floor under hard acceleration or cornering - although I think they still could have used a better system than magnets).

Mines plugged into lighter socket using the short stretchy lead (you get used to the look of it).

Only problem is the socket is not connected to the ignition so you have to unplug it after each journey.

Origin B2 fits nicely under the radio if you are interested so no ugly box cluttering up the nice curves!

You wuss, I lost my Road Angel in the footwell on my first trip through heavy cornering where the magnet wasn't up to it

I agree with all that has been said. Also, Silverstone offer a fitting service for £50 if you want someone else to do it.

Cheers for the responses.....

Who would you recommend to hardwire it? (I am in London/South East) Silverstone is not that far i guess

I do a fair bit of driving on bumpy b roads - and i am concerned about it flying off the magnet - whats the dash mount like?

thanks again

The magnet is actually surprisingly good. Mine managed to stay on when through spirited driving down bumpy A roads.

The permanent fixture does sound appealing as a future mod though.

Right, magnet it is for now then.

Am off down to Halfords to get one (£399) - anyone know anywhere they are much cheaper? My brother wants one as well.... if that makes any difference

Navnow have the at £389 but for the sake of a tenner i think i will go to a shop...

With the window mount you can of course feed the power lead through the back of the bracket which helps it to stay secure when you pushing 8000 rpm and pulling 6g

£319 on ebay plus a tenner postage, that's a saving of £140 if you both buy one...

Montys! That's a Toyota dealer in Sheffield - I think I'll drop in and knock £10 postage off the price.

Can certainly vouch for the job the Silverstone boys did on mine. They cost £399 regardless as it is controlled by the makers, so I suggest you give them a call and see what the lads at Silverstone TVR can do on two units and an install.

Hi maddog........we are thinking of getting a B2 for the Sagaris.........

Bearing in mind it's fitted quite low in the Tam.....are the audible beeps still clearly heard.....? and would you recommend the unit........?

Hello.. just purchased a Road Angel 2 - thought it was about time!! Where has everyone positioned them on the dash? Do the windscreen wipers get in the way, given they do not rest that far down etc? Thanks in advance..

If you mean will the wipers interfere with the angel detecting a laser gun? If so I would not worry as apparently by the time the laser has been detected the plod has already recorded your speed.

The Wipers don't interfere with the GPS for fixed camera etc.

Yes it was the laser I meant.. so not much point having the laser apart from knowing that you have been targetted?

PS - love the colour

Unfortunately yes what you really need is a laser jammer, although not sure how legal they are, have a read of this:
