Well I didn't expect either of these when I bought a 718. This:

A set of golf clubs can actually fit in the back.

And this:

Note my usual driving style gets nowhere near this mpg (& pls excuse the dust, it has since been valeted.)

Who needs an estate?

Mine’s a Boxster but I can still get golf clubs in the rear boot, just! Plenty of space if you are precise..

In the boxster I get my woods in sideways first (there are recesses) and then the bag in. Porsche designed the boot to accommodate a set of clubs ;-)

Ps you can get a trolley in the front which is deeper

Managed to get my bike in the back at the weekend; had to take the handle bars off, got the wheels in on top as well smile

How are you ‘surviving’ the four cylinder drama? So many comments not liking the new engine and sound. I’m after a 718 Spyder or GT4, otherwise a Boxster 718 GTS. Haven’t tested it, but can’t imagine a Porsche with a bad engine or bad tune. Grateful for your feedback.

I drove a 981 black edition and a new 718 back to back when I was originally looking back in 2016. Sure the F6 is the smoother engine, the F4 has a rougher edge but for me the acceleration and torque via the turbo was outstanding and so I bought the car.

Ask any 718 owner, I'd say most probably don't see what all the fuss is about. I actually like the rougher sound of the F4, better performance, economy and torque, and the newer tech for less initial cost (vs a 981S for equivalent performance say.) Others seem to think F4T is the end of the world and discussed it for 80 pages in another thread. All Porsches are great cars in my view so I don't think you can go far wrong either way. The PDK is outstanding, I think the 718 one may have newer software but I'm no expert.

I'm sure somebody else will be along shortly to present a different view.

Jonttt - good tip about the drivers, I noticed the recess but did not think they would fit hence laying them on top in the photo. And yes, the trolley fits nicely in the front !

Have not tried to fit a bike in it yet, that's impressive.

Thanks for the feedback. Will try to test drive one towards the end of September. Currently have a Boxster 981 S, so expect to feel the jump in power from 315bhp to 365bhp. Would still prefer a 718 Spyder with the alleged 400+ detuned 6cyl GT3 engine though.. wink
PDK is awesome, more so when you get a handle on how to track it in ‘manual’ mode !
