Simple really, whats better/more reliable:

Accord Tourer DTCI
Passat Estate 1.9 PD
Mondeo Estate 2.0 TDCI

I'm a tart so I want heated seats and cruise as a minimum, mondeo has cooled seats too so even better.
Got a budget of max £1500, so want to know what your experiences and recommendations are?

Mechanically i'd go with the Passat, but the rest of it is rubbish. Injectors are common on the TDCi and the Honda diesel is not designed like a Honda should be.

Volvo is probably the obvious choice but you might find a Laguna with the 2.0dci just above your budget. However at £1500 i would say most diesels are on the verge of being unreliable, a 406 2.0 Hdi would make a good cheap estate, the Saab 9-5 2.2 might be a bit rough and ready ..

The first halfway decent one of any of them that you come across. ‘Everyone’ can justify a cheap diesel estate - if you see what I mean...

Mondeo best handler, but can rust. Passat staid. Honda feels smoothest, as it’s a low compression diesel, but I have no high mileage experience. V70 is nicer than them all, but more expensive to run in terms of consumables (bushes, etc).

A looked after, 53-54 plate V70 D5 with the 163 engine (no DPF) is an automotive cockroach if you keep up the maintenance on it.
