Had lowering springs fitted.

Was groaning when turning wheel.

Mechanic said too mounts are worn.

Took it to kwik fit who showed me where the springs are basically scraping and pressing into the inner arch of the car on both front wheels.

Mechanic who fitted is baffled.

Any ideas?

At a guess (and I may be way off here) not enough clearance.

What does that mean? Sorry im a bit useless with mechanicals.

They are the correct kit for the car and noone has ever had an issue, ive rang eibach directly. I have standard wheels, no spacers and so on.

Means there's supposed to be a gap between the springs and the wheel arch, and there isn't. That's why it is scraping.

How much gap was there with the standard springs? Why don't the lowered springs have a similar gap to the standard ones?

Changing the springs doesn't change where they are located. If they are fouling now I can only imagine they are of a larger diameter than standard.

Or not located correctly on the platforms and "bulging" out on one side.

Find a mechanic who might be less baffled by something so very simple when it is in front of him ?

Step by step guide.

1...Open eyes and look at springs.

2. Where they of suitable dimensions compared to the old ones he removed ?

3. Did he install them correctly ?

4. Become unbaffled.

I wish you'd buy a bike, a simple one with no gears or suspension.

Check the old spring diameter to the new spring diameter like Mignon has stated. There’s no way a mechanic would be baffled by this or else you have fitted them yourself and tried to do a bodge job and in fact they’re larger in diameter?
