A commuter bike for the wife
Discussion
So my wife cycles to work and back and is currently doing it on a dutch style city bike thing. Her commute is quite hilly and despite doing it for a year now it is not getting any easier for her. After having a go on her bike i can see why.
I am looking for a bike up to about £1000 to make her life easier and so she can get a bit more speed up. I cycle a a bit (only have a basic boardman sport road bike and a boardman team FS mountain bike) and would like something she can come on longer cycles with me on
Any suggestions?

there are quite a few in Bristol so i can go and take a look.
She is just under 5ft so i think she is going to struggle with most road bikes!
For a road bike, that is indeed a small frameShe is just under 5ft so i think she is going to struggle with most road bikes!
Trek S or XS would work though, and that gives plenty of choice. e.g. https://www.trekbikes.com/gb/en_GB/bikes/road-bike...
Islabikes Luath 700 large which, although primarily aimed at kids, is sized for inside leg 76cm - 86cm / height approx 158cm and might do as well. Don't immediately dismiss it, they are a pretty reasonable bike and, for £650, it wouldn't be the worst starting point imo https://www.islabikes.co.uk/product/bikes/luath/?a...
