E70 X5 - Particle Filter Warning
Discussion
Popped up on dashboard and reliably returns after initial 10 mins of driving.
Is this a indy only fix or is there a DIY to resolving this? I understand it's a warning for build up of soot in the DPF and driving at elevated revs for 15 mins may help clear it? Will light reset once it's satisfied?
Car as more or less lived on the motorway doing 80 mile commutes of 100's of miles to and from customers, very few short journeys.

Once a Dpf fault code is stored a regen will not take place until the fault code is no longer present.
Make sure whoever you take it to fix understands BMW dpfs. They only block due to another fault such as faulty thermostats or glow plugs. They should also never need replacing. Just a forced regen for minor blockages or sent off for a chemical clean with major ones.
