WOW

550BHP, real 4 way adjustable shocks, 18" wheels, single mass fly wheel, YES it does seem to fit to the new car !
Sequential box, real Diff, blade adjustable ARB,

when people say they have bought a GT3 RS and it's a race car for the road, it's not is it, THIS is the race car :-)

I just find it annoying PDK, PASM, e diffs, 20" wheels and stty brakes on the road cars , then they are punted as race cars.

I would love 4 ways shocks, 18" wheels, monoboc Calipers and blade adjust ARB :-)

car is £500k though I guess.

Plus Slicks have a higher profile and stiffer sidewall ........also when running this budget a few Grand per hour . Having done a fair few 24 hour events in Porsches ......... expense only starts when you arrive at the track

Looks like an RSR to me. Judging by the rear defuser i'd guess it would be mid engined. Cant see the point of a road version. It would be a horribly expensive nighmare to run an RSR on the road. A cup car costs about £5K per hour to run, an RSR is well over twice that

It's based on the 991.2 GT3 RS this new R and has the rear mounted engine still.

RSR is a whole new ball game imo.

Morning Peter, hope you're well ?

A quote attributed to Greg Brown from Precision Motor Werks, Anaheim, CA sums it up well, "What part of Porsche Racing did you think is going to be cheap, is it the the Porsche part, or is it the Racing part ?"

And

"Racing is the process of turning money into noise." And that noise cancels out the noise between my ears...

I wouldn't be so sure the race cars are not running the e-diff with variable locking ratios like the road cars. A fair few other gt3 race cars I am pretty sure are running that.

All it says is "mechanical limited slip differential with adjustable preload". Nothing about whether it's the electro-hydraulic multi ratio one used similar to the pdk road cars or the fixed locking one on the manual. I believe the Audi, Merc and Mclaren GT3 race cars are using the multi ratio one, it seems unlikely that the GT3 R is not too and probably has been since the previous 991 variant.

It makes me laugh for the right reasons!
Firstly the 991r road car is a joke as a labeled R,the car in the pic is a true r,rather than a marketing excercise to kid some funds out of people, there is only one type of rsr and they are full on race cars also.
Having seen the mid engine rsr in a thousand peices and weisach boys working on them, there is no intention of a road version,or type approval, its a very rudamentry rear half of a cayman welded on with state of the art running gear etc.
There has been anounced a gt2rs clubsport being only made available to motorsport customers😄,a proper clubsport ie no interior.
The gt3r and rsr are no use on the road unless drasticaly changed to rs ride height and setting etc,and basicaly fitted out as a rs!

One slightly obscure technical difference that hasn't been mentioned yet I think, the new GT3 R has double wishbone front suspension now, previously only used on the RSRs. Interesting Porsche motorsport felt they finally had to make the switch for the GT3 racing cars as well. One can but hope that finds it's way to the road cars soon too....
