Good afternoon all,
I was wondering if anyone has any experience of the MPPSK option that you can add to 340/440 and 540s. I am considering getting it fitted to my 540 touring. From what I have seen and read in sports mode it’s very impressive making the exhaust sound a lot better in my opinion more in keeping with a sub 5 seconds 0-60 engine plus you get a reasonable if not vast performance improvement. My worry is that like many things in life you need to keep the other half happy, and it may just be that mine might not appreciate pops and bangs quite so much as say for example a heated seat.
So, in comfort mode and gently driven is it noticeably louder, how about if you drive well in the Rev range? Is the cruising volume at motorway speed much louder? Will we be able to hear the subtleties of majic fm? Is it possible that maybe just maybe the other might not even notice?
Many thanks!

Happy for someone to correct me but I am sure it will work the same as the performance exhausts you used to get.
Depending on what mode your in - valves will be closed so will be as you would want it for crusing and no hooligan behaviour.
Put it in sports mode or rev it higher in the range 3500+ valves open and sing a hail mary at the sound.
never heard anyone ever complain the exhaust was too loud on motorway etc. I suspect it will be the exact same as you have now unless you gave it some welly pushing you higher in the rev range.
Maybe do some youtube searches

Depending on where you are you might find people willing to let you have a listen. I'm in Reading and have the mppsk on my 340i and I found a local owner so I could have a proper listen.
Simply put it IS loud in sport/sport+ and it really does complete the car. It's a quickish car and the exhaust makes it feel as quick as it is. Without it I was going at silly speeds without noticing.
The performance difference is noticeable. Worth ~£1700? Proably not. The whole package though really does transform the car.
I can't leave it in sport/sport+ on the motorway as the drone is too much from the exhaust but put it in comfort and it's perfect. In comfort its only a smidge louder than the car was with its stock exhaust.
Cold starts are annoyingly loud. The stock exhaust and cold starts was loud, this is louder. After 30seconds it goes to barely audible which may or may not annoy your neighbours. I've found simply resting my foot slightly on the accelerator for this initial period cuts the noise right down.
I found an underground carpark a few weeks back to get some video showing how loud the exhaust was and I was greeted by some other car owners who were impressed at how loud it was and got this video:

you can also get fun gunshot noises from it if you're being silly

The day I made my mind up I met with a 340i MPPSK and a 440i with Remus exhaust. This is an example of how loud each car is, mine is on the right.
