Vauxhall Corsa D 1.3 CDTi (58). I bought it used with HP.
Hey guys,
I'm in need of some advice as I'm in a real pickle.
I bought my car on finance two years ago with two more years to go. The car has developed a fault and my local mechanic thinks it's a problem with either the EGR valve or Turbo and has quoted me anywhere between the £600 - £1000 mark without knowing for sure. It runs but has a noticeable loss of power due to the fault.
Knowing my luck (lack thereof) I have a feeling it will be around £1000 which I can't afford right now. So I'm a little unsure of my options. I can't afford to pay off the £2500 remaining finance and buy a new car and I can't really afford to get it fixed without knowing how much it's going to cost.
Would I be able to part exchange the car? even with this fault? I was looking into it and would I be able to get negative equity against the price of another car?
Thanks in advance.

Yes you can part ex it but they will bid you very low for it (unsurprisingly).
Find a better (more knowledgeable) mechanic or get you spanners and learn to DIY fix it (good life skills that can save you a fortune over the years)
Odd logic that you can't afford to fix it but can afford to part ex it for a new car (what are you going to do if /when the new one breaks down?)
