Evening All,

Upon watching Doug DeMuro review a 500 Abarth my interest was peaked. I daily drive a Ford Ka (RU8/ MK2) which is essentially a Fiat 500, they are build on the same production line in Poland. Therefore, upon watching the video and looking into Abarths in the past for a possible future purchase, I cannot seem to make my mind up on them or as to why I would buy one. The indicator, dipped lights and wiper blade stalks in all of the Abarths even up to the 695 biposto are the same as my car, the seating position, stereo (other Abarth's as the 695 has no stereo as far as I'm aware) and plenty more interior parts are shared with my car.

Cutting out the bore, watching Doug drive the car and his comments on the car are really relatable in terms of the body roll and torque steer which I certainly notice and annoy me with my car. Therefore I would love to hear from some owners and ask some questions relating to how the car drives.

For Abarth owners:

Have you experienced a regular Fiat 500 or Ka before or after owning and driving your car?- Did you notice any similarities/ differences...

What is your favourite part of the car?- Character, looks, ect..

Out of 10, what would you rate your car and why?

Short and sweet...

Yes I have been driven in a fiat 500 s - similar in most areas just toned down and a bit less 'special'

The Monza exhaust by far...but the overall comp package of sabelt and carbon / alcantara is nice

8 / 10 no regrets

The Abarth is a ridiculous car that’s what makes them great.

If you think that the indicator stalks and stereo is what makes a car then it is likely not for you.
The Abarth is not the best handling car out there, but it’s no worse than other similar sized cars, it’s certainly not terrible.

Torque steer is fun once you get used to it and drive round it.

It’s built to be a fun car not a track day special, and they are great fun. I would have another one in a heartbeat.

OP, I'm sure there's plenty of people in the south that own a bath.

Sorry! Haha

Not from down south but own an Abarth. Would rate it 5/10 as its built so poorly and mine has been unreliable.

Solid 8/10. I’ve got a series 3 595 comp. It’s not the fastest or best handling car ever made, but by god is it fun. The noise, pops and bangs, chatters and burbles. It can shift, don’t get me wrong, and it’s great surprise much more expensive metal. I’m in agreement with myself that it’s not the most practical car, nor economical, but it was an itch I had to scratch and I’m so glad I did!
