N62 4.8 Map Thermostat

I have a fairly new (12,000 miles only) BMW engine that has thrown a 2EF4 'Map Thermostat, mechanism' engine code. The engine is running a lot cooler than it should be... at around 75/80 instead of 96/100.

Is this a complex/costly fix?
