A Clio RS 172/82 is probably the best call. I had a 172 Cup for some years and loved it. These will be out of budget now, but a FF version wont be. Shop carefully, there shall be dogs out there, but also good ones.

I sold this for £1,450 in February!

0 to 60 in 7.0, RWD and a petrol straight 6! But for your budget a 130i would be an option (although I'm not sure how insurance would work out). Still 265 bhp and 0 to 60 in under 6 seconds has a certain appeal!

You know that gurgling sound Homer Simpson makes after saying "mmmmmmmmm Pizza!" .
Good clean 6 cylinder 3 Compacts have the same effect on me.
