Hi All,

Just speccing up the AV on the house I'm having redeveloped.

In the loft bedroom I'm going to re-use my trusty Denon mini system and plug in one of my subs. Which leaves the speakers. In the last place I used some cheapo Mordaunt Short bookshelves which actually sounded surprising decent but in this room I'd like to lose them and go more discrete.

I started off looking at in-ceiling speakers and came across Monitor Audio C280's @ £200 ea. But went to have a look at the room yesterday and realised the positioning was going to something of a compromise.

Then I realised that I could actually flush mount some in-wall speakers as I can have a cavity that's 570mm high x 360mm wide x 150mm deep on the walls either side of the window. I've seen some MA W180's at £160 ea which would fit nicely.

Anyone used the MA W180's or something similar? Maybe the W280?

If you are mounting in the wall, see if you can found speakers that have back boxes, they make quite a difference to the overall sound.

Equally,

There are good PH prices on any Monitor Audio stuff if you know who to ask (wink, wink, nudge, nudge (me))
