The latest edition just landed and it's very Porsche heavy - which is nice.
Pages 54-93 are a number of articles on the 70 years of Porsche. What really caught my eye was the 70 Greatest Porsches which included tractors and race cars.

My thoughts on some of the cars listed - Carrera GT only 14th, I would have put it much higher.
996 GT3 at 46, again surprisingly low.
987 Spyder - not even in the top 70!

I won't spoil it for those still to receive their copy by naming the full list or what came out as the best of all time - just to say it came as a surprise.

The 959 has got to be somewhere near the top.... that car was at least 20years too early.. or rather showcased all the technologies and developments that Porsche would be reapplying for the next 20 years.

I do find it funny that you say it's pointless as it's only someone's view, pot / kettle comes to mind.
However, I digress...

As for you list...I already said the Carrera GT was 14th and the 987 Spyder didn't make the top 70.

997.2 GT3RS 4.0
959 your boyhood (wet) dream
918
917
991.2 GT3 RS

all made the top 10, but none are in the top 2

If the #1 is a surprise, then I'm guessing the '73 911 RS is at #2.

For #1, is it the 919?

Shamelessly plugging the 987 Spyder as always. laugh

964 RS (in Maritine), 964 turbo 3.6 and 993 GT2 would have to be on that list IMO

Mmmmmm..

Would this be another article written by somebody that's probably not driven most of them?

Probably, Chris Chiltern is credited as the author and is the road test editor but hasn't been around long enough to be considered an expert. Georg Kacher must have had an input but he's too big to fit in the race cars but at least has good access to the factory and has been writing for at least 25 years to my knowledge.

73 RS will be top 3 or even 1st, just not on my own list.

25th for the Cayman R wow , nice result.

no shame in it, it's a 1275 kg drivers car, very bespoke really for Porsche these days.

After 93 cars I have owned I have had it 7 years, it's an amazing car. I call it my Big Elise and the cheapest on my list to buy by a big margin.

agree - probably the best value Porsche for sale today.
