So, some of our customers like to use the Royal Mail to send us stuff, they like to use special delivery as its "Guaranteed by 1pm". The service we offer is often required on the hurry up (Laser engraving) BUT our local post office does all the delivery's to the Industrial areas at about 6.50am , we where cared today at 7.10am but i checked the cctv and he got here before 7. The problem is we now cant get the stuff till tomorrow (according to the card).
This happens semi regular, we tell people not to use the post office but they still do, common sense would dictate you would try to deliver to a business in business hours.
Anyone know if its worth complaining and who too, I tried the post office and they just thought it was funny and said the postman sets his own route .

I can see why a postie in a van would plan his round this way. Do the industrial estates before they fill up with parked cars, and the houses after the school run and commute has started. Probably saves him a lot of time.

Or you can request that someone collects your mail from the local delivery office every morning.

They hold on to it instead of it going out in a van, then someone from your end drops in (they usually get issued an ID card, but after a while when the guy in the office recognises them on a daily basis they probably won't need it) and picks it up.

Bit of a drag, but if it's causing you strife, it might be worth it in the long run.

Ask them about mail collect.

A lockable parcel box on the outside wall perhaps ? thats what we have for postie to leave it in when we are not in. Only really takes a single delivery though as they turn the lock after...

Postie wouldn't/shouldn't leave special delivery items without a signature.
