I'd recorded a programme and here are two shots from it. Could you imagine seeing that today?

Most of the early NASCAR racers were Bootleggers, that's essentially how the whole thing it started.

Junior Johnson is still brewing 'shine to this day.

American Pickers ?
As others have said most of the old racers were bootleg runners .
Some of the history of the good ole boys was fascinating.
They had the first street sleepers , cars that didn't attract attention but had bigger modified engines and hidden storage .
Boys being boys it soon led to competition between drivers which led to races .

Not trying to be 'picky' - but but were the photo's supposed to be of the real event? - 'cos the Olds is a '48 and the Ford a '49

Not just those from the BTCC ,
Having mates who work for HMRC I have heard of more than a handful of them getting caught , the quantities of naughty substances is quite staggering.
The HMRC exhibition trailer was the one seized from a BTCC team .
You would think that if you claim to be testing it would be an idea to check that the venue was running tests or even open and not being re-surfaced .

These days, I think police cars should chase Lewis Hamilton for crimes against men's fashion.
