Was looking on howmanyleft and for 991s there seems to be around a 60/40 split in favour of rwd with manual awd partic rare
My quest is how come there are so many awd carreras at all since they are quite a bit more expensive and heavier. I dont think its to tame the car as the 911s are so well sorted at this point.
Most people i know either bought or would by rwd without seriously considering the awd so who is buying the awd and why?
This is not a troll rwd is better thread its a genuine q

I back to back compared the gen1 versions .
It was a very very wet day and I’m such conditions the 4 stood out .The 2 was constantly lighting up the traction warning lights and cutting power ,the 4 just got on with it.
Generally I prefer 2wd but in the uk a 4wd makes sense with the st weather we have,

I wasn't particularly fussed about whether I got a 2S or a 4S.
I was more concerned about finding one with the spec that I wanted. I ended up with a 4S, but if a 2S with identical spec had been on the forecourt I may well have bought that instead.
Having said that, I did like the idea of the wider rear end and as it's my only car the 4wd doesn't hurt in winter.
I'd also seen a Evo video review where he said the steering actually felt better in the 4S because of the front diff and driveshafts.
