Yeo said:Not quite - most of the money doesn't make it to the Treasury, but is swallowed up by the Scameraships in such ridiculous activities as building new offices and police overtime...
And he has relentlessly increased the number of speed cameras, to raise money for the Treasury by stealth.
"Powers brought back to Britain from Brussles" ... yeah, right. Easily said, harder to do and frankly irrelevant. This election campaign is vaguely reminiscent of 1992 ... the opposition had an absolute sitter and yet t
tted it miles wide of the goal. One can only hope that zee humiliation ist onbearable and they finally get their act together during the next parliament while the party in power become lazy and self-destructive leading to a repeat of 97. Sad thing is, I can readily imagine Brown taking over as leader towards the end of the next term and injecting a lot of new life into Labour while also taking them off to the left. He could well win. I sincerely hope the Tories get their shit together before that happens.

I often thought 1992 in retrospect was a good election to lose for Labour. The economic shambles that happened post that would have all been dumped on their doorstep, the Tories would have swept back in in 1997.
Likewise, there's a huge reckoning coming after the 2005 election (i.e. the response to the Pensions subject from Lab is "wait for the report" which is conveniently after the election).
Brown's economic miracle (crap) is mostly on tick. All those new hospitals and schools.... well we haven't actually paid for them yet. We've mortgaged you for the next thirty years for them, but please give us the credit.
His economic control is more down to manipulation of figures - absolutely ALL the figures produced these days are obviously fraudulent.
All those quangos and their immense public sector costs (let alone the pensions) and the associated massive costs they produce for the people they "monitor" as a consequence which damage businesses and the economy. Sometime, somewhere, someone is going to have to cough up.
It's all going to hit them in the face soon.
There's two options ; cut back and/or increase taxes.
Lab will not increase the Income Tax rate, but everything else (including, obviously, Council Taxes) will go up significantly and keep going up.
The solution is to dismantle all of Blair's quangocracies and local government and make them really accountable in the same way that the rest of us are. You fzck up, you get sacked.
You try complaining about them. You'll get nowhere, and even in the worst cases (81mph in Suffolk) nothing ever happens.
Scamera partnerships are one, but there are innumberable similar, and they all behave in much the same way (Scumeras affect the general public more than most of the others).

Before the 2010 election, revisions to the Political Parties, Elections and Referendums Act 2000 will mandate postal voting for all.
To save candidates and party activists having to bribe postal workers to obtain the postal vote forms, or cajole them out of people door-to-door, the forms will be sent directly to New Labour party headquarters. There, teams of trained monkeys under the direction of Lord Milburn and Lord Mandleson will put crosses in boxes roughly in the proportion of votes cast in the 2001 election. The Party will then aver the number of votes cast for all candidates and Returning Officers will be obliged under pain of imprisonment to accept these numbers and declare the New Labour candidates duly elected.
To ensure fairness, the election will be supervised by Mr Viktor Yanukovych and representatives of Zanu-PF.
Life President of the EU, Tony BLiar will then remove his tongue from the rear passages of the French President and German Chancellor long enough to confirm the outcome, congratulate Mr Brown's Cabinet - who will be exclusively Scottish - and remind the British people that they must now move on ... before commenting to his AdC Lord Campbell that it was a f
king good job he rendered Parliament irrelevant before he quit. "That bu99er Brown never trusted me. That's why I made sure he inherited a sinecure."

So, no change from this election then ?
