Handbrake Adjustment

Apologies but as the Search option isn't working get ready for stupid questions from me as I near the end of the build...........

Is the only adjustment for the handbrake at the lever end? ie. the two nut adjusters.

I've tightened mine up quite a bit but it still doesn't engage the handbrake calipers.

Just a thought and probably you have done this but have you tensioned the outer cable correctly? From memory there are 2 17mm nuts on each outer cable that allow it to be tensioned, in addition to the adjusters on the inner cables themselves.

Finally got round to checking what options I have to tune the handbrake and it would seem he only option is the 2 10mm nuts on each cable.

The 2 17mm nuts just seem to hold the cable casings in place?

is this right?

Sounds like you just need to tighten them up a little bit more. The inner cable has to make quite a tight turn onto the caliper and it has to learn how to lie....until then its springiness will absorb a chunk of the motion. It'll get better. The other thing to note is that the calipers have a self adjustment mechanism that will ratchet them onto the disks. Try pulling the handbrake on and off several times.
