OK. So having my Ikepod chronograph disappear in the postal system after sending it in for some warranty work I’m now in the position to replace it and looking for any suggestions of watches I’ve not looked at.

I keep looking at the Tudor Heritage Chronograph in blue but have a Black Bay blue on bracelet as a daily and an Advisior on leather as a weekend smart casual. Bit worried about it being a modular chronograph though when it comes to service.

Not fixed on another chrono but would like something ‘interesting’ with regards the watch/movement. Decorated hand wound, power reserve, GMT etc. The Ikepod was a lovely thing to wear but I got it for a bargain and I don’t think they are worth £3K for a 7750 that the majority are selling for.

Have a couple of more dress type watches so this needs to be a mix between the two Tudors. Something that works with a shirt and tie during the week and casual at the weekend with either a bracelet or more robust strap (the Ikepod was on rubber) so I’m not conscious of taking it off when washing up!!

Just lost out on an Omega Deville Chronograph with the in house 9100 movement that was at £3k as new in box with warrantee (leather strap though). Also looked at the Speedmaster 57 but that is out of the price range, as is a Panarai Radomir 42mm.
Non matching (white with a blue face etc) date windows annoy me as do the dates at 5.30 on some Zenith.

Anything I should be looking at around £3k?

Tudor North Flag?

Similar to the Panerai and will come under budget but may be a little plain? IMO it would translate quite well between informal and dress depending on bracelet

Quite a few 7750 and 7760 manual wind chronographs around. Not the greatest pics, but here are some and the movements they're based on. Missing of course is the Field Engineer with it's 775M2 modified version.

Lorne, that is fantastic! Many thanks. Nice to see the Ikepod on there as well :-)

I would agree with this. Or wait a couple of months and see what that new Tudor GMT looks like in the flesh...

P.S. This doesn't need to be new but in good condition with a sound history (will buy private if I get to see the purchase receipt etc.).

Speedy is a good choice but I keep looking at the 57 with the display back, and the new movement.

Not sure on the Tudor GMT. I don't think it's as coherent a design as the Rolex. Same with the Black Bay Chrono. The snow flake hand does not work well in that design as it does on the simple face Black Bay and Pelagos in my eyes.

Keep them coming smile

Ok. So after bouncing between some lovely Zenith ideas (can’t not look at the wonky date at 5) and a couple of Nomos (stretching the budget for the model I’d want) I think I’m going to add a Speedy to the collection.

Any Speedmaster experts out there? What are the movements to have? Quite like the idea of a hand wound column wheel chrono but I think these would be vintage models.

Love the Speedy Tuesday and 57 models but out of budget. Also would like it on a bracelet rather than leather. Quite happy to trawl Chrono24 but any suggestions as to the model refs to look at?

Cheers
