Just thought I would kick off a new thread, for new owners of the Jaguar XF.

Lots of us managed to secure cheap lease deals, and have had them delivered recently, so here’s a place for you, and anyone else to share your thoughts of the car, good or bad.

Also, let other owners know any features you have discovered. Some are not as obvious, or as easy to find as others.

I’ll kick off with my car, a white XF auto, R-Sport. 1 week old. Great car, and so far no real issues smile

I have Just downloaded the incontrol App, and Remote App on my iPhone. Both great additions and standard on the R-Sport Auto. However one of the best features - Remote climate start (warm up your car by remote starting the car & climate with your phone) won’t work.

I keep getting - ‘error, your car fuel is low’. Although app is showing fuel range is 270 miles.

Any one else get this working OK?

Just downloaded the app and got it working without a problem. It takes a while to connect and to process what you’ve asked it to do but it works.

Have had mine a week now and already down about 3 weeks worth of miles. Oops. Took it on a motorway run and with the cruise set to 70 it returned 43mpg which I’m happy with.

I do find the sat nav pretty useless. Have downloaded Sygic into the InControl apps and it’s a bit better but I’m finding myself pondering buying a Brodit clip so I can use Google Maps on my iPhone - madness in a £37k car!!

Took it out to try towing the caravan with it - no problems at all. I was worried that the torque spread would be an issue v the 2.2D we tow with now, but it was fine.

Glad you’re enjoying the car smile

Have you used the remote climate with the app yet? All other features work on mine, so not a connection issue with the network. Maybe a faulty probe??

Did you pay extra to link the Sygic app to the car screen? I think it said £69.99 when I looked so didn’t bother!!

No, I’ve been using the free 7 days of premium. It’s £34.99 ‘just’ for the car connectivity or £69 as part of a pack - I won’t be paying that!!

The remote climate control works without a problem. Maybe give the dealer a ring? Have you tried switching between WiFi and mobile data?

Well, all sorted and now working smile

I don’t think I had driven it since I set it up. Been for a short trip and parked up. Tried the remote climate climate, and bingo.....success!!

Looking forward to a cold / hot day where I can pre-set the temperature of the car smile

I’m one of the unlucky ones that should be getting one delivered, however I got shafted and refused the deal even though my credit check was approved the Friday it first came out!
All was ordered by the Tuesday and then got call off Select over a week later that Jaguar we’re not honouring it! Feeling bitter!!

R-sport £225.25 on a 9+23, 10000 miles a year.

How did you manage to get 8k miles for £320 Ham and Jam? That's mega cheap Xs miles.

I need to buy additional miles already, I was thinking 5k of them over the term.

I’ve no idea why so cheap. I just asked for a quote with the extra mileage before I purchased. smile

Not sure if getting the extra miles after purchase would be as cheap, although with my Passat through VWFS I purchased 10k extra miles @ 3.6ppm after 1 year of the lease. You couldn’t get the cheap extra mileage in the first year. Not sure if Jag finance (Lex) do the same smile

Every car brand has lemons through their range. Sounds like you’ve been unlucky.

I’ve had quite a few premium cars through the years, and so far the XF seems up there with the best of them.

Long term reliability? Who cares, that’s the beauty of leasing. wink

You've done OK there.

I'll have to make a call to Lex, see what they say.

Mine is an early one which probably didn’t help but the comprehensive stness across the quality and reliability spectrum has been severe, even as a company car it’s a pita due to the frequent dealer visits. Upside is the frequent free wash and vac’s I suppose....

Had a drive of a colleagues new 530e, it’s way ahead of the XF. Can’t wait to change personally. The jag does look good however.

And I've changed from a 5 series to an XF for the same reasons you're doing the opposite. 3 years of the 5 series with trim rattling and literally falling off, terrible customer service and an awful ride quality, which you could argue to it being M-Sport with 19" wheels, however Jag can produce the R-Sport which I have with 20" wheels which rides superbly I don't see it as an excuse.

Infotainment in the BMW far superior though (Comparing BMW Pro system to Jag incontrol touch Pro).

Is there anyway of activating an ‘autohold’ feature on the Jag?

Coming from an Alltrack, I never touched the handbrake in 2 years. It would apply the handbrake automatically when stopped, release on acceleration.

The XF releases automatically, but not on stopping.

Is it possible to do this? First world problems and all that biggrin

I got excited at the price and then saw the uselessly low amount of miles!

They look like nice cars and I’d like to see more around. I don’t see as many as the previous generation

I only do 9-10k / year now, so perfect for me.

Gone are the days (thankfully!) where I used to do 40-50k / year smile

Leasing tends to get less cost effective as you get over 15k -20k / year, so maybe not for you smile
