Another new Cerbera owner!

Yep, parted with the cash today (ouch!) and the '99 4.5 is delivered on Saturday morning!!

I've been reading on here for ages and been hunting for a cerbie for about 6 months. Huge thanks to all the advice I've read about and to those guys who came and helped me see if it would fit in the garage.

Now all I have to do is to be calm and sit patiently until Saturday morning. Hmmmm.... And its a bank holiday weekend!!

I'm reluctant to say too much until it arrives (Saturday!!) just in case its all been a dream and I wake up in the shower!!

I can say it's ....blue, so should fit nicely in the Maidenbower Cerbera fleet.

When I have got it, I'll publish the details, including the best £200 I've ever spent on a car in my life.

Keith, you're welcome anytime. I can't really believe its going to turn up. I'll let you know when it does (you'll probably hear it)

Just an update.

It arrived, was fantastic but now Paul at Austec (huge thanks!) has it, hoping he'll fix it by next weekend.

I won't go into the details here yet as I need to tie-up some loose ends and I don't like airing things until it's sorted.

Needless to say, I'm extremely p1ssed off just at the moment!

Just to add insult to injury, the sun was shining this afternoon too.

Congrats on the purchase, there is not much else out there that will make you grin like a Cerbera Enjoy, take it easy, set aside a few grand for petrol over the next few months and get ready for the most fun you've ever had in a summer

Thanks for the encouragement - I remember reading the details when you bought yours which made interesting reading. Now, I'm just glum, waiting to get the car back and a bit fuming about the way some people operate.

I bought my first TVR 9 months ago. I was hysterically excited about driving it but it broke down so many times in the first 4 months of ownership it almost spent more time off the road than on the road!! I was gutted beyond words, it was like a big toy with me feeling like a big kid when it broke. Almost every second weekend, having finally bought a TVR, only for the weekends to approach and find myself yet again not being able to drive it. I live at the foot of beachy head, and debated jumping over many times

The same happened with the cerbera (not as bad, but far too many niggles for my liking). All in all, Ive had 16 garage/dealer visits, 5 low loaders, and the one thing Ive now learned is to emotionally detach myself from the car. (I also learned not to buy TVR's which havnt been driven regularly )

So yes, definitely an enthusiasts car. But not everyone has as many niggles as Ive had. Some people enjoy years of trouble free motoring. But all niggles will get sorted in time. Just remember that when it does break down, however shitty you feel, we've all been there, done that, you'll get emotional support from fellow PHers and when its sorted you'll be once again driving in the most fun car money can buy

I think I'm making some progress on the car now, but time will tell. It doesn't yet feel like my car as I've only had her company for 4 hours so far

As my mate said, it's a bit like having that toy at Christmas but then not having any batteries. Frustrating!!
