Hi Guys,

New to the furum., have been reading some old poast and would appreciate your knowledge.

I work in Saudi Arabia and now have an opertunity to buy my first Aston Martin here. A 2010 DBS volante with about 16k miles for aprox 65k£. Needless to say its been my dream car for a long time now and at this price i can actually afford it.

Of course the car has some small scruffs and scraches but generally looks in good condition to me. As I have no previous experience and no idea how much it would cost to fix all the small stuff I would appreciate your help.

This is what I cought:

- The Driver seat leather shows sign of wear and cracks
- Right headlight has small cracks
- wheel rims scraped
- frond bumber scraped

Price looks very low to me but what I have seen they don’t really appreciate the car here that much. All other listings i have seen are at aprox the same price.

Anything I should check further before i pay a professional to look at it?

Thx,
Alban

It looks to good to be true but then ppl here are strange. When i show the pictures to my saudi colleges they say “why do you want that, get a lexus” eek

I plan on keeping it for a long time. Bring it with me to Europe after i finnish work here. If I keep it here one year theres no custuma and tax to take it with me.

If possible try and get a main dealer to do a full inspection.

I imported my DBS from Dubai, it has less mileage than that and has no scratches and marks at all.
The good news is, you CCM discs look in good shape. Check for things like water leaks, tyres, the gas in the door struts has probably gone too. If it checks out, get it bought.

but that's what happens, short journeys, in and out a lot rather than sitting in it for 200 miles

I have seen that in a lot of cars here with low milage. Think it has a lot to do with the extreme hot and dry weather.

I bought a 2008 V8V in 2010 when I was living in Doha for about two thirds what it would cost in the UK. It only had 8000km on it and was in perfect nick. Dealer put a new clutch in it under warranty. The only thing I paid for in 2.5 years was a set of front pads and I sold it for the same as i bought it for.

If I'd moved back to the UK I'd have taken it with me but I moved within the gulf so sold it. Commuted in it daily and the only issue was the a/c. The vents don't point down low enough and the capacity of the system isn't enough for the summer. I wouldn't worry about the low price as a sign of anything wrong, prices out here can be all over the place.

Definitely get it inspected - but generally the mechanics (engine, gear box, suspension etc.) are robust and should be no issue with that mileage.

The things you’ve spotted are cosmetic - a good leather guy can restore the leather; the wheels can be refurbed though they’re diamond cut so it’s a full refurb, not a quick patch; I’d leave the small scratch marks on the light - they may polish out, else you’d be looking at a new unit which isn’t cheap; not sure about the lower front paint damage.

I’d go over the paint with a fine tooth comb - roof pillars, doors, door handles, wheel arches etc to check for any paint bubbles. Insist any are sorted.

Good luck with it. They’re fantastic cars.

Great looking car. Is it auto or manual?

The optical issues seem minor, just let it check technically and go for it!

Its an automatic, had it been a manual i would have bought it already.

Except for what I showed on the pictures car looks great. No bubbles in the paint. Tires prob need changing. I noticed it has continental 255/35R20 tiers in the front and one tire has a cut on the sholder. Apart from that all good. Will try to find an expert here to have a look at it.

Looks like it needs some minor cosmetic work, but even so still a bargain at that price!

After a lot of bargening price is now down to 62k. Will bring it to the aston martin athurized dealer tomorrow or the day after. They do a complete check for about 300£. If everything works out I should have it parked at home before the weekend. So excited!!!
