Mk1 GT3 or 996 Turbo?
Discussion
Neither of these cars should warrant a cheap runaround.
If you work out how much you'd spend on depreciation, insurance, maintenance, and other running costs, it's probably no more expensive to just drive your GT3 or TT every day (well, that's how i justify it any way!).
Tough call, but i think i agree with Johnny, i'd get a GT3 (but you have to remember johnny and i both drive 993's, so we will like the more tactile GT3 than the slightly anodyne TT).

I'm not looking to change till next year really.
I do like to research things well and well in advance!
So loads of permutations and combinations running through my tiny mind!
I must admit that I prefer the concept of the GT3 and would no doubt take it on track after a bit more tuition.
I am quite keen to do some hillclimbing/sprinting. I'm doing the Prescott course in July in my current car! Don't know if the GT would be suitable!?
As I said I need to clarify my mind!!
Cheers

How do you find the RS? that and a 993 turbo are also in the melting pot!!
Wadsy,
I love my car, but it isn't to everyone's taste. My RS has been converted to Clubsport spec along with a more powerful engine, lower suspension, noisy exhaust etc. It is purely a weekend car. It is best on track, probably too hardcore (read bouncy) for country lanes. (See the details on my profile).
However, a regular 993 RS comfort is a fine car, a much better all rounder than my car. They aren't amazingly fast in a straight line, but their cornering and braking capabilities are huge. They are also depreciation proof.
The GT3 is a simlar car, but more refined and faster. However, being the more modern 911, they have lost some of the charm. It depends what floats your boat. The GT3 is a better all round car than mine, no question. You need to sample both cars if you can.
