I wouldn't recommend any dealers in Guildford or Ash, unless you want to bend over while they roger you.

I have heard good reports of the dealer in Epsom.

Agreed - I live in Ash Vale

For Mrs Twin Turbo's 156 TS, I used the indepedent that normally looks after my 300ZX. It was £400 all in (Cambelt & service). However, he did ask me NOT to recommend him to anyone else with an Alfa, as he doesn't like working on them - he prefers the Jap stuff

Sorry, that doesn't help you one bit

Also heard good things about Gonnella Bros in Catford (9-13 Catford Hill, 020 86900060)

I'd suggest Medway Alfa in Rainham, they've done brilliant work on my JTD. 01634 388887 ask for Dan Childs & say Jim Hearnden sent you. Their labour rate is reasonable and they'll even fit bits you supply!

Just over the Hampshire border is Adrian Hawkins, AH Motorsports, in Hartley Wintney and Ken Bell, Alfanatic, in Fleet (01252 629159). I asked Adrian to change my belts and give my car the once-over when I bought it and he seems a good bloke - I will certainly be using him again. It might be the wrong end of the county for you but it's a quick dash along the M3 or A3/A31.

I will second saxmund and highly reccommend Adie at AHMotorsports. One of the few you can trust to do the job properly and not rip you off.

His knowledge and the quality of his work is backed up by the fact that his engines / cars are the quickest and most reliable in the National Alfa Romeo Championship.
