Need a bit of a workhorse, something suitable for an impending house move and the subsequent DIY which comes with a house purchase. Sharing with the Mrs and it will be our only car and used daily, so it must be reliable and respectable. But as this is Pistonheads I want something with a half decent engine or driving experience..

After always having hatches, this is a niche I know nothing about.

If you consider anything other than a big Citroen C5 mk1 or Mk2 for load lugging and weight carrying you are daft. Massive boot space and a suspension system that levels no matter what you throw in it, they even raise high and lower to the ground (almost) for loading/unloading. Use it then throw it away when all the heavy dirty stuff has finished.

I'm just about to sell my Audi A6 Avant Le Mans.
These are impressive cars, with HUGE carrying capacity, great build quality and reliability, loads of spec' and a very respectable performance/economy figures.
These cars are well worth a look. Happy to offer more about my own car, if you're interested?
