Cleaning air filter?
Discussion
Humm what are the thoughts on changing the air filter set up for non origional or is standard best? are there any performance gains to be had by upgrading???
Is there a known induction setup (intake - exhaust)that is known to inprove performance?? Joos your thought would be greatly Appreciated ..

To answer original question... I was told to clean the filter with petrol, don't think it needs to be Optimax though!!
Then I re-oiled mine with a spray oil that I bought from a motorcycle shop. The same stuff they use on moped filters I think. It's quite sticky stuff.
I was also told, you only want to spray the underside.
Hope this helps!

I had some K&N cleaner and oil sitting on my garage shelf, that seeemed to clean up the lump of sponge that I found in the filter housing.
Seriously considering upgrading to a pair of green things serewed to the inlets, as the sponge can`t be very efficient !
They do look good!
