Hi all, there’s some old threads on this but nothing lately so here goes.

I’m back in UK for 6 months and going to go a driving tour around Europe for a while and a few thousand kms Looking at 330Ci and 330cd Coupé/convertible (shocked how hard it is to find a 330ci Manual!!!)

Wondered what your thoughts were between the two, reliability, driving engagement etc. I’ve owned a 330ci in the past so I’m familiar with it on its own.

Seem to be petrol cars around £6-6.5k and diesels around the £5k, seems they have already taken the hit price wise with all the legalisation changes. And obvs I’m aware of swirl flap issues on the diesel and would be looking to have these removed. Cheers.

How important is Mpg, sound, higher revving engine etc to you?

On a serious note, I imagine that it will be rust that will be a bigger problem. Both engines should be pretty reliable lumps by this age, assuming they are well serviced.

So I sold my previous car which was a 228i M Sport Coupé. It’s the best most boring car I’ve ever owned. No character or noise. I know the 330Ci makes a great noise but I imagine the 30d in that size car also brings with it its own unique Intoxications and doesn’t sound half bad either.

There are a few clean cars around but yes anything with a sprinkle of rust is off the table. Mainly wings and corner where panels meet from what I’ve seen.
