Got pulled over by a police officer with a speed gun today while out on the bike. I didn't realise the road was 30, but it was (and even so, 44 is still above 40). But they caught me red 'anded and bang to rights guv'nor, etc. Bloke's just doing his job at the end of the day.
What can I expect punishment-wise? I thought it was a 3 points and £100 fine thing, but I've heard all sorts about 6 points, proportions of your salary and now I'm thoroughly confused. And a bit worried to be honest.
I have an SP30 from 2 years ago still on my licence if that affects anything.
Any advice is appreciated.

IIRC 37mph is cut-off for a SAC. I would probably expect 3 points and £100 fine.

The salary deductions confuse me as I remember when that was brought in but I think it only applies if you’re summoned to court. 50% over the speed limit though could mean that’s a potential salary fine.

Fixed penalty for this offence is £100 and 3 points.

"Summons" = SJPN.

If I end up with 3 points and £100 I'll be pleased enough. I was doing 36 when I got the other ticket so with this being nearly 50% over (my fault, no getting away from that) I was worried I'd be in for a proper bumming.
Looks like I may shelve the idea of getting a sports bike if I manage to get a ticket on a 50 year old 250!

I just received 3 points and £100 fine for 45 in a 30.
