NOx sensor codes
Discussion
I've got persistent NOx sensor related codes on my E92 N53 330i. I've replaced the faulty original injectors years ago and my suspicions are that the NOx sensor was damaged by the earlier ones or has otherwise failed. The car runs fine, there are no check engine lights etc and I'm only aware of the persistent NOx codes after reading the fault codes after replacing a coil pack and checking, clearing and checking the codes.
I'm wondering if it is worth replacing the NOx sensor, or is it one of those that replacing it will just clear a code? From what I can gather a knackered NOx sensor will harm fuel economy.
For reference the codes are -
2B09 Nitrogen-oxide sensor, lambda linear
2B0A Nitrogen-oxide sensor, electric
2B0B Nitrogen-oxide sensor, lambda binary

NOXEM is fantastic resource for the N43 / N53 engines.
From reading up, mine is stuck in homogenous mixture mode, the profile normally used for mid to high load.
It's an expensive fix for marginally better fuel economy, especially as my car is mostly used around town these days.
I can't see why NOx issues would cause any long term harm, the car is running rich but it would be doing this when booted.
The only gotcha I can see is the next MOT under the new regulations. Will the two NOx dependent modes be tested?
