Hello and good day. My question is simple and any and all advice would be welcomed. I’ve seen and viewed an lovely jaguar x type 3.0 v6 manual. It’s got 52000 on the clock. I’ve already put £100 deposit on the car, it needs a lambs sensor and climate control won’t turn on. The dealer has said he will fix both issues ready for Thursday 24/5/18. I’m buying the car for £1800. I have owned a 2.5v6 manual but clutch went and I sadly scrapped it. What is the 3.0 like to live with and is this climate control and lambs sensor issues going to come back and haunt me. I should have asked these questions before I put the £100 deposit down but I need peace of mind because I tend to over think and worrie about stuff like this. I want this car because I think it offers what a lot cannot : reliabilitytongue outower:comfort: and I think style as I love how they look and feel. Cheers fellas .

Engine bottom end often lets go, mine did at 90k, FSH too. Fairly common from what I've read.

I thought the interior was cramped and felt like a cheap S type, and the console looks awful without the sat nav. Handing isn't bad, but didn't feel as fun or as fast as the BMW 330i. That said, If you liked the 2.5 you'll like the 3.0 more. If the dealer fixes it first, then buy it.

I've heard of parking sensors, adaptive cruise control and collision avoidance systems, but I didn't know Jaguar had developed something specifically to detect the presence of sheep.

That's clever, that is!

A lambda sensor isn't a big job (if that's really what the problem is). It's just a sensor on the exhaust that tells the car's computer what the exhaust gasses are like, to that it can adjust the amount of fuel it gives the engine to burn.

Climate control could be anything from a fuse to a very expensive problem, but if the dealer has promised to fix it, then so long as it's not an intermittent problem that will recur, you should be OK on both.
