A manual! Rare beast indeed.
For a manual it is on the cheap side, but a low estimate often is to attract attention (also don't forget buyers premium!)

The interior (whichI like btw) will also drive down the price.
Also it is a rather niche market. The DB7 isn't considered to be a 'proper' Aston and although a beautiful car will not reach the spheres of earlier cars.

So it's not for the collector; it's not for the sports car driver; it's not flashy enough (thankfully!!) for the attention seeker.
It would be the perfect car for me! But there is one massive downfall: the price!
No, not the buying price. Also insurance (you'd be pleasantly surprised at how low), tax or hefty petrol bills are the problem, but maintenance.

You see all those bills from Oselli (a well known specialist by the way, so great!)? Probably none of them is three figures!
And at that age the car continuous to demand at least the same amount of upkeep!

Sure you can be lucky and/or run it on a shoe string/DIY certain stuff, but it will never be a cheap car to maintain.

I ran this lovely DB7 V12 Volante for 7 years and it was a superb car. Insurance and servicing (find a good Indie) was not excessive.
The only big expenditures I had in all the years was the replacement of plugs and coils (1 for each cylinder) and replacement of the 2 fuel pumps (hidden in the bowels of the tank!!!!)
Find a good one and you'll really love it.

At the same auction, for similar money the AC Brooklands is quite appealing. They also have a couple of Bitters although the Fiat Osca gets my vote.

I agree with Filibuster. The estimate seems reasonable. The manual is more desirable than the auto, but you need to factor in that, when the clutch needs changing it will probably cost £5k.

I recently bought a dark blue DB7 Vantage Auto with a more subdued interior and fewer miles for the top end of the estimate in this auction, but I have the security of a short warranty from a top dealer. And I'm very happy with the car.

I wonder how the market will view the DB7 in time. Of course, it will never match the classic car kudos of the earlier DB's, but surely being the car that saved Aston must count for something, as must its incredible beauty.

When I bought mine, I figured that what I save on depreciation, compared with a new car, I will spend on maintenance. But we shall see how I get on when I get presented with a bill for, say, £8k!

Since it was XJS based it has always been known as "The Jag in Drag". For me, it has never had the ethos or gravitas of an Aston Martin but does have the maintenance costs.

At least the choke accessory is correct! Wrong colour & steering wheel, roof fit looks terrible (maybe just that hood frame hasn't been sprung up) I'm not convinced that's a 948, wheels...matter of taste but I'd prefer originals.

I dont think that DB7 is undrpriced, and i think it is accepted as a real Aston these days. That role, previously held by the 6 cylinder dbs is now held by the cygnet.

The problem the DB7 has is the Db9. A much better driving car, if perhaps not a better looking one, more useable for not a lot more money. You have to want a Db7 to have one. To want a V12 Gt style aston, youd go for a db9

Pretty thing, shame about the pig ugly wing mirrors and that it has lost it's Nardi steering wheel though!

If there is one car there that has caught my eye it is the BMW 635i. I had an M6 in the day and te engine was a jewel, as all stright six Beemers were. At one third of the Aston's price I'd love to own it; but I wouldn't take it out in the wet
