Hi
Yes it was me the other night, i was playing hockey on the astro! It hurts me very deep, i will miss it like mad, but its one of these things its got to go. You either buy one of these cars when you are 30's or 40's as a toy, but i've done it too early to be fair im only 23!
Its been cool and i dont regret buying it for a second!

I first test drove the elise when it was brand new back in '96 and wanted one ever since, i was 23 at that time and its taken me till this year to own one.
Hats of to you for doing it now, really feel sorry for you that you will have to let her go, i have been out in the exige on the road and track a few weeks ago and its just the most awsome toy in the world.
Dont worry, I'm sure you will be back soon

Gazhardiman, is there no way you can keep it? I hear your comment about buying this sort of thing when your 30-40 but if you can have one at 23 then why not? You'll so regret it if you sell it. I'm only 24 an have had my 111R for six months now. I was already thinking at the weekend about what I might get next and realised that I simply could not drive anything else (other than my dream car which is a Porsche 911 GT2 which I can't afford). Before I got the elise I had driven just about everything I could find both new and used up to the ~£50k mark including a few second hand 911's. I know for sure I could not trade in the elise for anything but another one. If you need any more convincing then I suggest you try driving "something else" for a day or two and see how you feel. Only last week I had to give up the elise for a couple of days whilst I had a new sound system fitted - I borrowed my dad's Astra Coupe to get me to the train station and back, was a nightmare (ok so there are closer cars to the elise/exige than an astra but still!). Don't do it otherwise you'll still be regretting it by the time your 30-40!
I have a solution,
I am only 32 and have managed to own all the cars I have ever wanted.....leading upto my ultimate purchase of a red Ferrari 360. Ran it for a year, took a bit of hit when the F430 came out in the press and the annual service was up, loved every minute it but at the end of the day its just car.
I'll get another one some day and will probably sell it and buy something-else equally as daft. I think you should do whats right for you, and start drawing your list of desirable cars.
My current list is something like this:
Exige
Subaru WR1
Porsche 911 (996/997)
BMW M5 (not the new one)
Nissan 350z
I'll probably take the plunge on one of these by Autumn when I move into my new gaff in the country. My current motor is an '04 M3 SMG which is ace, but again why just dream of the ultimate when there are so many 'drivers' cars out there.

The M3 is top, I've had 2 in the last 3 years. A manual Convertible and currently an Estoril Blue SMG coupe.
Both were fantastic cars, daily runners with oodles of performance and decent 4 seaters to boot.
I'm a little weary of the SMG novelty factor, although I have to say overtaking has never been so easy and efficient, sitting in 5th or 6th behind a lorry at say 50mph...space opens up....flick downshift paddle twice, car matches revs for 3rd gear instantaneously ....plant foot!
Stereo- fantastic
Satnav- Excellent minor niggles if encountering new roundabouts
Handling- Excellent!, I tend to drive with traction control off and the fastest setting on the gears - only available with traction control disabled (not necessarily for hooning but seems smoother gear changes at low revs)
I can't fault the M3 at all to be fair which is why bought another one. The main problem for me is it the fact that its a BMW......German traits of efficiency but little personality. I love going heavy on the loud pedal but I don't look at it the same way I do other cars......
I don't know of any 4 seater car that does travel this quick and handle so efficiently...... sometimes too efficently as there is very little skill involved.........Which is why I may take the plunge for an Exige!
