On my way home tonight i was doing some over taking and had some bikes behind me after they overtook me i notices that they had police type helmets on them and hi vis jackets with police on the back of them., but the bikes had no police markings.

Was probabley exceeding the speed limit when i overtook a car in front. but then let the bike past. (before i realised it was a copper, was 5 of them in total).

Should i be expecting a NIP in the post?

From previous threads on PH I believe the SEG use unmarked bikes. Were you near Windsor, Chequers or somewhere that had VVIP visitors today, eg Manchester?

If it was the SEG they’re unlikely to be concerned about a few MPH over the posted limits.

You mean police or, 'insufferable pipsqueak with a superiority complex?'

OP said there were 5 of them, which really would be taking their waltishness to a new level.

So they were also speeding, you didnt say they had blues and twos going so were not on an emergency call.

Read the very handy sticky at the top of this forum - it isn't a requirement.

Where was it? Quite possible you will get an NIP. No need for the bike to have police markings on them to be issued with an NIP. We have a few unmarked bikes in Hants.

Yes they were also speeding. Police are allowed to speed though in certain circumstances. And no, warning equipment doesn't need to be used.

Have a read of this and let me know where it says they have to have blues and twos going to use their exemptions.

Yes they were also speeding, and no blues on.
Pretty sure it did say police and not polite. looked to have police markings on the helmet as well.

Was in Mid Wales, There is a big bike festival on this weekend "No Bull just Beer and bikes", so maybe they just scouting the area in preparation for that.

Have a read of my post, I never said they did, just pointed out that the OP did not identify this
