Prices of GMT MASTER II

Would like thoughts on current GMT MASTER II used prices.

Referring in particular to "Coke Bezel" Red/Black - 2003 Watch

Large variation in the pricing.

Chrono24 tend to have them at £6500-£7000
Watchmaster claim they will pay up to £7100
Companies like Goldsmiths offer £4500-£5000 cash in store or £5500 as a part exchange
ebay prices range from £6000-9000

Market place is healthy for these models

I don’t think they will lose any money, have been on a increase for the last 3 years.

The ceramic model with the all black dial seems to be the bd child of the bunch, very cheap when compared with the batman!

I've got a batman 'spare' and I've been biding my time as to when to jump out of it. Many predicted that soon Rolex would flood the market with steel sports watches and that a lot of the premiums would disappear. But more recently the opposite has been officially announced and values on my Bat(men) have remained strong.

Forgive me, very wrong wording. I think it's better to say it's widely reported to be the case not just with ADs, but the chap from Rolex who attended the Basel event I went to confirmed the very same thing.

I've noticed this too.. and it's a model I actually like. There's not that much difference in cost between a 5 year old one and a new one though so I may try and get hold of the latter, especially as I could see it being discontinued soon.

Yes looking quite strong, they have been creeping up steadily. I keep an eye out as my wife bought me a 16760...turns out she's a better investor than me even when she's not trying

I probably haven't worn my 2002 Coke GMTII for more than a month since I service it ~5yrs back!

Probably shouldn't have a read a thread about how much they have gone up as Mrs9 wants a new house!

I paid £2750 for my ‘90 16710 gmt II back in 2013.

I was offered £6000 for it by a local Rolex reseller last week.

Which was nice.

I paid £5700 for a ceramic black GMT last year.

I'm fairly confident it won't lose money, but that wasn't my primary reason for buying it.

Would like to change it for a Batman though at some point soon I think.
