Hi guys

Hope you can help - just brought a facelift 996 and looking for a sports exhaust backbox to get rid of the hairdrier noise !!

I know this has been covered before but the search function seems to have been down for a few days. My thoughts were

1) A fabspeed sytem - well priced and well made. Not their by pass system as probably too noisy for every day use.

2) Hayward & Scott bespoke system - they do a trackday friendly at 96 / 98 db - but is it worth changing to this ? Do anyone know the level of the standard exhaust ?

Or they do one a couple db higher or a straight through one with baffles before finally just by pass pipes !
I was veering towards the one a couple of db higher than the trackday friendly one - surely I'd be alright at a lot of tracks at 99/100 db ?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Be careful. A lot of Gt3 drivers have had track day friendly systems fitted but regularly get thrown out of track days because they breach the noise limits. If you intend to track the car regularly, I would leave well be and spend the money on a set up

Thanks all.

Checked out the link and they're working on one for a 996.

Anyone have positive experience with sports exhaust at trackdays ?

Steve R - plan to do a trackday a month. Budget won't stretch to a full suspension kit, do you think it's worth going for springs and a setup ? Car is standard /not sport chassis.
