So why did we all go to Brands in 1997 to celebrate TVR's 50th anniversary if the first car wasn't finished till 1949?

I've heard of being early but that is rediculous.

Wedges around 82/83 IIRC. S series never had it. early Griffs and Chimaeras never had it. Griff 500 and later Chimaeras option. Cerberas and later mandatory.

Cos we decided to celebrate the golden anniversary of the company, not the car, that's why. Trevor started the company in 1947 but it was a general engineering company and the first TVR car was built in 1949.

The first car produced under the TVR name (derived from the creator's first name TreVoR) was a hand-built special designed and built by Trevor Wilkinson in 1947

It also says that TVR would go on to be the 3rd largest sports car maker in the world? Is that as wrong as the spelling & grammar???
